Birthday Books 2007

My birthday was about two weeks ago, Nov 20th to be exact. For my birthday I asked for money from the fam so I could buy books. Here’s what I got.

1. Manuscripts of the Greek Bible: An Introduction to Palaeography, Metzger (I’ve been waiting a long time to find this cheap...got it for $30)
2. Lost Scriptures: Books that Did Not Make It into the New Testament, Ehrman
3. The Lost Christianities: The Battles for Scripture and the Faiths We Never Knew, Ehrman
4. A Hellenistic Greek Reader, Colwell (used)
5. A Patristic Greek Reader, Whitacre
6. Koine Greek Reader, Decker
7. The Encyclopedia of Philosophy, gift from my Edward and Nina...you are the best Greek students!
8. The Roots of the Synoptic Gospels, Reicke
9. The Gospel of Judas, Critical Edition (still in the mail, unfortunately)
10. The Apostolic Fathers (new Holmes edition)
11. Ante-Nicene Fathers (CBD is the cheapest place I can find)

I had a little money left over, plus a little from an early Christmas present. I’ve received some recommendations for synoptic gospels books, so those books are in the mail now as well. Will report on those later...
